cobwebs

I never disturb the cobwebs; they
are the ghosts of spiders' past.
They are the record of a being
that once lived here.
I wish we could leave behind
our webs, our stories.
Most of us are swept away with
callous brooms. Our histories
left to dust and bins.
Most want to make a lasting
impression, and that's okay.
I am happy being lost to time,
and forgotten by the house I lived in.
